Signage for Oddfellas Pub & Eatery have officially been installed in the Westgate Shopping Center located on North 21st and Pearl St. in Tacoma. Situated next door to The Habit Burger Grill, I'm enticed by the "Open in February" sign in the window. While some strip mall gems reside in this area, it's mostly fast food chains. This will be the second locale for Oddfellas, their homebase being located in Auburn. With a menu that spans from breakfast to happy hour and beyond with items like Oliver's Poutine and Chicken Fried Pork, plus a vision that states a desire "to develop long lasting friendships daily, one pint and one tater tot at a time," I have a feeling I'm gonna like it there.

If you're a fan of Sel in Tacoma, get your toosh to Gig Harbor because owner Gabriela Oliva has transformed what was once JW into Animarum. The menu, as featured on their social media sites, boasts elegant dinner entrées, flavorful small plates and salads, and even escargot and sweet breads are sometimes available, a rare treat. Wine varietals and craft cocktails in a moody intimate atmosphere makes for a perfect date night. And if the experience mirrors what you've found within Sel's space, Animarum is going to delight. Make a reservation now. 4107 Harborview Dr., Gig Harbor

It's not as though I need to feel like I've earned my vices, but if you want a good excuse to indulge, hit up the Run My Mimosa Off event, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. The idea is run, walk, stroll your way along the Ruston Waterfront beginning and ending at the Ram Restaurant and Brewery. Grab a friend, heck, take a gaggle of gals or go solo, it doesn't matter. After your walk, sip on mimosas at a deeply discounted price. Sounds like a win to me. 3001 Ruston Way, Tacoma

If you're still clinging onto those New Year's Resolutions but desperately want a beer, you're in luck. Forward Operating Base Brewing is hosting Beer and Yoga and Friends on the second Saturday of every month. Yogi Liz Grasher will guide a 60-minute class that connects breath to movement while increasing strength, flexibility and relaxation. After class, enjoy a craft brew, cider or water. Festivities occur from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Buy four classes and get one free! 2750 Williamson Place, Suite 100, DuPont

Tacoma's Sixth Ave. District is an ever-evolving beast. Some have spied what was once Sonia's Tacos turned abandoned mural material getting some much needed renovations. And you animal lovers are gonna lose your minds -- it's going to be a cat café. Catffeinated will have coffee, tea and cats! While enjoying your tasty beverages, you can mingle with kitties looking for a forever home! (Queue excited school girl squealing, now). Reservations can be made for one-hour time slots where you can simply enjoy the presence of feline friends even. Sigh, yea this is gonna be purrrrrfect. Keep an eye out for opening date. 2515 6th Ave., Tacoma
