"I came up with the name Rumors because anytime I have been in a bar setting, that's where rumors get started," says Stephanie Perry, owner of Rumors Wine Bar in downtown Olympia. 

The cute and cozy little bar has been conveniently located at 203 E. Fourth Ave. since August 2012.

Perry says after a career in the medical community, she wanted learn more about wine. She volunteered at Medicine Creek Winery in Nisqually for more than two years.

"It was then that I decided to open a small place where I could hang out with friends and family," says Perry.

The interior boasts a beautiful pine bar, zebra striped ottomans, a glass chandelier and other comforts to make the place warm and inviting. And with a wine bar comes wine, including Merlots, Cabernet Sauvignons, Rieslings, Pinot Noirs, Pinot Grigios, Roses, Chardonnays, Malbecs, Sangioveses and Sauvignon Blancs.

Perry's favorite wines right now are Seven Falls Merlot and Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon. For a local wine, she enjoys Medicine Creek Merlot.

Rumors is more than just a wine bar; it also sell champagne, beer and small plates of yummy food like hummus, salami and cheese, and chocolate platters. The average price is $8. Wednesday and Thursday offers $5 wine specials.

Rumor has it Perry plans to bring in chocolate molten lava cake, which goes great with wine.
