WINTER WINE CRAWL

We've established that some of the finest fundraisers revolve around libations. You get the warm and fuzzies for good deeds done and the booze. Northwest Mountain Winery (2825 Marvin Road NE, Olympia) will host a Cheers for Children Winter Wine Crawl noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. For $20-30 you may sip on local wines from your nifty commemorative glass to raise funds for non-profit Friends on Mia.  These funds help fight childhood cancer with research and aid local patients and families. For a list of participating wineries and to snag tickets visit southsoundwinetrail.com.

YO TAPMASTER!

Do you have what it takes to be Tapmaster of 2013? Tides Tavern (2925 Harborview Dr., Gig Harbor) will test your brew chugging strength in the month of February with 28 days to sip on 16 brews on tap. Do that and you will get your name on the wall of fame and a kick ass T-shirt to prove it. In the first week of March you'll get to claim your swag and bragging rights.

ITALIAN DINNER

Another joint in joining in the pairing dinner frenzy! Doyle's Public House (208 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) is hosting an Italian dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. There will be grappa and Limoncello, Prosecco and a selection of red and white wines, as well as a three-course dinner and other goodies. Tickets are $60 per person or $110 a pair. Chances are this is going to sell out fast. Reserve your space at 253.272.7468.

HAPPY HOUR

Boathouse 19 (9001 S. 19th St., Tacoma) has a happy hour featuring $4.50 specialty cocktails for $4.50 like a Shipwrecked Ginger Mojito and herby refreshing Gertie's Lemonade, as well as $3-$5 drafts, $4 wells and $5 wines. And to really entice the Boathouse 19 offers $2-$7 appetizers such as chili fries and oyster po'boys. Happy hour is 3-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close daily ... with a waterfront view.  Get some.

HAPPY HOUR DINNER

Federal Way staple Verrazano's Italian Restaurant (28835 Pacific Hwy. S., Federal Way) serves up classic Italian cuisine and at a fair price to boot. As a sort of "happy hour" for dining guests Verrazano's features a three-course dinner for $17.95 daily from 3-6 pm.
